Baptism

Your faith story

We are so excited you are taking the next step of baptism! Baptism is intended for those who have professed faith in Jesus Christ and can give sufficient testimony to the basics of Christian beliefs. Also, we baptize by immersion because it is not only the original significance of the Word, but also because it best symbolizes the reality to which baptism points— our death and resurrection in Christ. Although baptism as an infant may have been an important spiritual step for a family, membership at Hope Church requires baptism by immersion (either at Hope Church or a past church of like faith).

You’re welcome to invite friends and family to gather around you as you read (or have someone else read) your story. To prepare for baptism, click the link below and tell us your story:

A young girl with red hair is submerged in a baptismal pool, looking up at a smiling man who is helping her during the baptism ceremony.
A man is baptizing a woman in an outdoor baptismal pool, with a church building and holiday decorations nearby.
Two men standing outdoors near a building and a sign that reads 'Cecil B. Day Auditorium'. One man is smiling and wearing a black t-shirt and cap, giving a thumbs-up. The other man is dressed in a light blue shirt holding a tablet, standing near a large empty rectangular tub or container with a handle, surrounded by trees and greenery.
A man and woman smiling and laughing outdoors, with the woman sitting in a baptismal font and the man standing beside her, holding her arm.
